Volunteer Terms & Conditions

 

Our obligation to you

As per the offer email, we will provide you with the necessary accreditation (wristbands, stage access, crew tshirt etc.) to enable to fulfill your volunteer role.  Where necessary, we will also provide catering should your volunteer role prevent you from sourcing your own food. For some roles, you may be required on site for multiple days. If this is the case, we will endeavour to give you the option to camp in a designated volunteer area.

 

Your obligation to us

By accepting the volunteer terms and conditions, you accept the position laid out in your offer email and understand that the length and number of shifts necessary will vary between events. You also are confirming that you are aged 18 or above at the time of coming on to site.

By accepting the volunteer terms and conditions, you also agree to adhere to the following:

  • To turn up to all shifts as per the schedule on roster
  • Build crew are required to be onsite 7 or 14 days before event.
  • Weekend volunteers must be at team meeting at 10am 24 Aug 2023
  • To turn up to all shifts on time and dressed appropriately, wearing all black top & bottom, & be sober.
  • To complete all work as directed by your Line Manager or the Space Connection event team.
  • To attend all shifts sober. Volunteers are prohibited from being intoxicated before or during or after shift. Furthermore, it is at the discretion of your Line Manager whether they feel your judgement and ability to perform your role has been impaired by any activity. This is inclusive of any activity taken the day previously.
  • Volunteers are expected to remain professional at all times as representatives of New Earth éiRe and the festival itself. To be polite & helpful to patrons & other crew members.
  • If a volunteer becomes unwell or is somehow incapacitated to attend a shift whilst onsite, it is their responsibility to notify the Staff and Volunteer Coordinator either in person or via telephone with at least 12 hours notice.

It is at the discretion of the Staff and Volunteer Coordinator what action is taken if volunteers fail to adhere to the above. However, it is possible that failure to adhere to the above may result in immediate termination of your position, removal of your accreditation and you to be escorted off site in accordance with the festivals eviction policy.

 

Deposit Scheme

All deposits must be paid by 14 days after job offer. If you are paying from an overseas account, you will be responsible for any additional transfer charges. Commitment deposit is non refundable €50

Volunteers who complete their shifts and adhere to the obligations as listed above, will be allowed apply for next years event, failure to complete tasks will mean you can no longer work for New Earth éiRe.

 

Cancellations

We require advance notice for withdrawing your application and you may not be eligible to receive your full deposit back.

Volunteer Deposit FAQs

 

How old do I need to be to volunteer?

You need to be aged 18 or above at the time you come on to site.

 

Why do I need to pay a deposit to volunteer?

We ask all volunteers to pay a deposit of €50 to secure their position at the festival as detailed in your offer email. This is to ensure that volunteers attend the festival and complete all their shifts and duties as per the Terms and Conditions As detailed.

How much does my deposit cost?

Your deposit will be €50.

Paid within 14 days of job offer.

 

How do I pay my deposit?

Please pay by PayPal @spaceconnection

 

Can I pay for my friends’ deposit or can someone else pay for my deposit?

You are more than welcome to pay for a deposit on someone else’s behalf or have someone pay for your deposit on your behalf so long as they/you have been formally offered a place to volunteer.

Furthermore, please be aware, that if the volunteer fails to turn up to shifts or is asked to leave the festival, you will lose the deposit you paid on their behalf.

Please ensure that you have informed us of the name of the payee and volunteer name if they don’t correspond to info@newearth.ie

 

will my deposit be returned to me?

No deposit will cover volunteers expenses, crew food & crew tshirt.

 

What if I need to cancel but I’ve already paid my deposit?

Please refer to the cancellation policy as per the Terms and Conditions 

 

 

What if I need to withdraw my offer?

It is very rare that this would occur. However, if it is the case that you need to withdraw your offer, we will not be returning deposit.

If you decide to buy a ticket to the festival, we cannot refund your deposit.

 

Liability

Space Connection Events is not responsible for loss and damage to personal property or injury through inappropriate behaviour or personal negligence.
