Brit Bhride

Originally from Dublin now living in Portarlington, I’ve always believed in the strength of local communities healing through shared artisitic activities.

My passion for Brigid, her Brat (cloak) and my belief in the magical healing power she represents was bore out over

many years of upcycling and embroidering preloved scarves to gift for friends and family as Brat Bhrides.

The aim of this award winning initiative is to revive the special tradition of the Brat Bhride, a healing scarf embued with Goddess Brigids energy as she passes over the land on the eve of Imbolc.

Then kept in a special place in the home so all year it could be used for its healing power.

We welcome and encourage everyone to make and gift a Brat Bhride to someone they love who needs healing and comfort.

Our stitches are simple, vibrant colours of wool embroidered into celtic spirals.

We believe anyone can do it.

Every stitch is a good intention
