Hailing from Lafayette, Louisiana, Bukkha started producing dub music in 2007 with his debut vinyl release dropping just 2 years later backed with a remix from none other than Radikal Guru. Praised for his uniquely energetic DJ sets, he was a figurehead in the gulf coast dub/bass scene until 2016, before emigrating to Spain, where he now resides.
With an instrumental background in guitar and bass starting when he was 11-years-old, Bukkha, real name Evert Cristoff, was raised on the sounds of everything from Pole to Luke Vibert to Scientist to Billie Holliday, which has molded the uniquely versatile compositional style we hear from him today. Having dropped releases on a number of notable imprints in the scene, including Moonshine, Dub-Stuy, System Music, and Infernal Sounds along with a plethora of forthcoming releases on some very reputable reggae/dub and bass labels. Bukkha has also remixed tunes for Radikal Guru, Tuff and Powa, Danny Scrilla, Jojo Mac and more.
Over the years, Bukkha has received support from the likes of Mala, J:Kenzo, V.I.V.E.K, Channel One Sound System, King Shiloh and a wealth of other influential DJs and Selectors.
